Obituary for Anthony Van Deuren

Anthony Van Deuren, 47, De Pere, passed away at his home on Monday, November 20, 2017 of natural causes. He was a kind and gentle soul, who was well liked by his friends and loved by his family. He provided a caring home to his kitty companions. First was Homer, his long-time best friend, and more recently Melissa and Joey, two mischievous feline siblings.
Anthony loved watching movies, collecting memorabilia, reading, and shopping for fun things with his family. Having been a cook for many years, he even prepared many family meals. In all, they just enjoyed spending time with each other, and were always thankful for that time.
Of Anthony’s many endeavors, his special love was music. Many types of music. He was a constant fixture on the Green Bay Punk Music scene for many years. He was a member of three local bands: “The Horshacks”, “The Maroons”, and “Rotting in the Sun”. The music world has lost a creative and dedicated contributor.
Anthony’s creativity also included film making. He produced and directed “Death Grounds”, “Shape Shifter”, “Ours Go To Eleven”- a punk music documentary, and “Chops”, which had an exclusive local showing at the West Pitcher Show. He also co-directed “Shreck”, which had a commercial direct-to-video release.
Also in his younger years Anthony published a monthly Zine titled “Trash-O-Rama”. He was truly a young man of many talents
Anthony touched many people’s lives. He was a very special person. An unselfish, loyal, and loving son and brother. He will be missed every hour of every day for the rest of our lives. He brought us so much joy and happiness. He will never be far away from our hearts. We love you, Anthony.
Anthony is survived by his parents, Peter and Margie; his sisters, Johanna and Rosemary; his brother Dominic; his uncle Kevin; his aunt Calyne; and his cousins Daria and Damon. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Rosemary, and Russell and Charlotte.
A private service was held by Anthony’s family. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Anthony’s name to the Juvenile Diabetes Society or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.ryanfh.com
Anthony’s family would like to thank Dr. Stephen Perry, Donna Miller, Nurse Shannon Gardner, and Dr. Benjamin Ernst for their compassionate care.
