Obituary for David Loritz

David Joseph Loritz, 56, of De Pere, passed peacefully into the arms of his Heavenly Father on Thursday, April 19 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. He was in the comfort of his home, his favorite place to be, surrounded by his wife and daughters.

Dave was born on August 10, 1961 to Phillip and Donna (Froelich) Loritz. From his earliest years, Dave was consistently gentle and kind. After graduating from Watertown High School in 1978, Dave attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison for Business. Following in his father’s footsteps, Dave spent his entire career in the banking industry, assisting numerous customers in reaching their dreams. On November 10, 1990, he married his best friend, Lisa Clark. Together, they had two amazing daughters and shared 27 fulfilling years together. Dave ended his successful banking career with Johnson Bank this past February. Outside of work, he dedicated nearly all of his free time to giving back to others, humbly serving on numerous charitable boards including ASPIRO, NeighborWorks, and the Alzheimer’s Association of Wisconsin. As a man of deep faith, he also took pride in serving twelve years as a trustee for Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. While Dave also enjoyed cheering for the Packers and Badgers, by far his greatest joy in life was spending his time with his wife and daughters.

Dave is survived by his wife, Lisa; his two daughters Emily (Kyle Steuck) and Abby (Zach Rothering); his mother and father; brother, Steve (Mary) Loritz; sister, Cheryl (Dan) Rieth; mother-in-law, Nancy Pomeroy and father-in-law Patrick Clark; sister-in-law, Kelly VandenElzen and three brothers-in-law Casey (Amy) Clark, Toby (Jackie) Clark, and Brady Pomeroy. He was also blessed to be the godfather to his niece, Katie (Jake) Kempowski and is further survived by nephews Charlie (Kari), Ryan, Sky, and Quincy; nieces Olive, Nova, and Ivy. Other survivors include numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by grandparents Joseph and Ruth Froelich, Peter and Catherine Loritz, Agnes Loritz and his niece, Jodi Heller.

Friends and family may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, De Pere, after 2:00pm Tuesday, April the 24, 2018 until the Mass of Christian Burial at 6:00pm with Father Tim Shillcox, O.Praem. officiating. Please go to www.ryanfh.com to send online condolences to the family, as Ryan Funeral Home of De Pere is assisting the family.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude for Dr. Jerzak, Dr. Tahsildar, Dr. James, and the entire Bellin Cancer Team for their unwavering care and dedication to our husband and father. We would also like to thank Unity Hospice, especially Leah - despite being with us for a very short time, you made this experience more comfortable and peaceful for our family.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Dave’s honor.

“His master replied ‘Well done, good and faithful servant’” (Matthew 25:21)
