Obituary for Doris Hoffman

Doris Mae Hoffman crossed the bridge to eternal peace on September 28, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born and raised in Gresham, Wisconsin to Joseph and Louise (Lagers) Traeger on March 1, 1932. She graduated from Gresham High School. After graduating, Doris moved to Green Bay to work at the Green Bay Pickle Factory for 6 years. While attending a wedding with friends in 1959, Doris met the love of her life James Hoffman. They married the following year and this past July, Jim and Doris celebrated 57 years together. After raising her children, Doris went back to work and worked at VFW/Knights of Columbus Hall, White Pillars Museum and then for Lincoln Elementary School.
Doris had a passion for bowling, flowers, gardening, and loved butterflies. Her home was always surrounded with beautiful flowers. She was the envy of the neighbors as her flowers were the first to bloom every spring.
Together Jim and Doris raised 6 children. Kathleen, Teresa (Mike) Kruse, Cynthia, Diane (John) Henningfield, Debbie (Brett) Christensen, and Chris (Kara) Hoffman.
She has 11 grandchildren, Dana, Cory, John, Jordan, Jack, Will, Kaitlyn, Joshua, Maegan, Larrisa and Isabelle; and a great-grandaughter, Evelyn.
Doris is also survived by one brother, Robert Traeger along with his wife Bernadine. Sisters-in-law Betty (Robert) Vanden Avond, Carol Brennan, and Ruth Feil. Numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving brother and sisters, Norbert, Mary, Sister Margie, Beverly, Dorothy, and Joann. Jim’s parents Henry and Eleanor Hoffman.
