Henry "Hank" Ashton, 78, Ashwaubenon, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, January 4, 2019. Born July 10,1940, the son of the late Ralph and Bernardine (Geyer) Ashton.
Hank proudly served in the United States Navy from 1957-1961 as part of the commissioning crew aboard the U.S.S. Galveston.
Hank married Carol Forcier in 1962, she preceded him in death in 1986. He married Janet Stutleen June 16th, 1989. Upon retiring from the Village of Ashwaubenon, he and Janet enjoyed traveling and settled in Tuscon Arizona until 2013. For many years, Hank was involved in Ashwaubenon Youth Baseball. Hank loved the Packers and enjoyed entertaining people.
Hank is survived by his wife Janet; his children, Andrew Ashton, daughter-in-law Julie Ashton; Janet's sons, Tim (Lori) Laes and Rick Laes; five grandchildren, Kelci, Nik, Reanna, Caden and Cash; as well as one great-grandson, Myles. He is further survived by his siblings, Donald (Chris) Ashton, Judy (Jay) Frisch, Robert (Pat) Ashton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol; his son, Donald; his in-laws George and Margaret Stutleen, and sister and brother-in-law Carol (Tom) Baeten.
Family and friends may call at St. Willebrord Catholic Church, 209 S. Adams St, Green Bay, on Saturday January 12, 2019. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. Fr. Andy Cribben, O.Praem will officiate. Full Military Honors will follow. Ryan Funeral Home, De Pere is assisting the family.
