Linda Marie Wanless passed away unexpectedly in her home on January 15, 2022. Born 11/7/1961, Linda was a joyful shining light to all whose paths she crossed. In her early life, she loved to travel. She lived in Israel on a kibbutz for a time, after which she traveled extensively in Europe. She also lived in Japan for 5 years, teaching English to businesspeople, and while there, took the opportunity to explore Asia.
Back in the States, she worked as a teacher at Green Bay Christian School for many years, and later as an Office Manager at St. Norbert College in the ESL Department. While at SNC, she met and assisted hundreds of international students from all around the globe. Her love of languages served her well in this endeavor. She spoke 4 languages fluently, as well as dabbling in many others, facilitating communication with "her students". She loved helping her students, spending time with them, organizing outings for them, having them to her house for meals, and mentoring them. And her love was returned wholeheartedly. Her shining light has literally been shone into every corner of the world. After leaving SNC, she found a home at Alleluia Lutheran Church in Greenleaf, WI, where she worked as the Church Secretary. She was well appreciated there for her organizational skills and tireless work ethic, and she was well loved there for her beautiful joyful spirit.
She was a member of Living Hope Church where she did extensive volunteer work and was active in Celebrate Recovery where she touched many lives. She was happiest when she was with family and friends, talking and laughing, crafting, sharing meals, and watching movies. She loved to read books and had also taken up knitting, to which family and friends can all attest
She is survived by siblings, Michael J. Wanless and Teresa A Voeltz, as well as niece, Megan Buck, nephew, Mason Voeltz, and brother-in-law, Robert Voeltz. She was preceded in death by Mother Julie V. (Wanless) Zahn, nee Voegtli, and Father Ivan J. Wanless, Jr.
