Obituary for Richard Huguet

On Friday, March 29, 2019, Richard “Dick” Huguet, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away unexpectedly at home at the age of 76.

Dick was born on May 7, 1942 in Green Bay, to Robert and Marie (LaLuzerne) Huguet. He graduated from Preble High School in 1960 and went on to serve in the U.S. Army from 1963-1965.

On April 15, 1967, he married Shirley A. DeJardin and they spent 51 wonderful years together. Dick and Shirley were blessed with four wonderful children whom they raised in West De Pere.

Dick was a successful business owner of Huguet Construction from 1983 until he retired in 2005. Prior to retiring, he started a small business with his son, Robert “Bob,” called R & R Topsoil which they enjoyed working together.

Dick enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. You would often find him in the bleachers cheering them on at their sporting activities and musical events or up north taking them hunting or fishing. Dick also enjoyed making wood crafts and furniture for his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughters Lori Hopkins of Rice Lake, Pam (Rick Jeske), Brenda (Dan Frasch), son Robert (Tricia Minten) all of Green Bay; grandchildren, Preston, Hanna and Bryce Hopkins, Zack, Gabby and Logan Frasch, and Jake, Adam and Megan Huguet.

He is further survived by his siblings; Janice Shernak of Texas, Linda (Ken) Peterson, Kathy (Dennis) Nuthals, both of Green Bay, and Julie (Mike) Brunette of Indiana, Thomas (Bonnie) Huguet, Harry (Martha) Huguet and brother-in-law Robert Dahlke, all of Green Bay. Dick is even further survived by many nieces and nephews and other extended family members.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marie, step-father Anthony Hamernik, and his sister Marilyn Dahlke.

Family and friends may visit at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2019. Visitation will continue at Nativity of Our Lord Parish, 2270 S. Oneida Street, Green Bay, beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2019.
