Obituary

Adam Anderson was born on August 9, 1977, to Lynn and Susan (Bartell) Anderson in Des Plaines, Illinois. The family moved to De Pere in 1989 and Adam is a graduate of West De Pere High School. He went on to earn an electrical engineering degree at Milwaukee School of Engineering. After marrying his high school sweetheart, Andrea (Goffard), on August 26, 2000, the family took up residence in Wrightstown. The most important job he held was staying home to raise his three kids whom he just adored. He was released of all of his earthly burdens on August 1, 2021, the very day he had asked his wife to marry him twenty-two years earlier. Adam was preceded in death by his father, Lynn, grandparents, Morris and Weena Anderson and Edward and Betty Bartell, Aunt Cindy Dennis, Uncle David Bartell, Uncle Gene Anderson and Cousin Russ Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Andrea and their three children, Ethan, Elise and Liam, Mother Susan Anderson (special friend Larry Smith), Brother Kevin Anderson (Sarah), nieces Brianna and Audrey, in-laws Jeff and Sally Goffard, brother-in-law Jason (Katie) Goffard, nephews Owen and Brady and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Adam had a wide range of interests and talents. He loved projects like building our deck and finishing our basement. From the time his car was loudly thumping around West De Pere in the early nineties, he was always interested in sound equipment. He loved rigging up speakers and sound systems to make everything sound just right. That being said, he would happily turn down the music to chat with neighbors and passersby when he was sitting out on the deck. Adam just generally loved fixing things and always approached a problem with the utmost patience and persistence. He loved the Cubs and the Bears but we loved him anyway! Above all, Adam cared for our little family. He was a "baby whisperer." The kids would just melt into calmness in his arms. His parenting was a lovely mix of quiet book reading and loud music dance parties. He guided the kids to be the compassionate people they are. Adam exuded care, offering calming words and a hug or hand squeeze any time it was needed. He wrote love notes. He lived to make us laugh. He was grateful for any kindness shown. Adam LOVED giving people gifts and was so thoughtful about choosing them. Thank you for showing us unconditional love and the strength to persist. Oh, and by the way, he had Multiple Sclerosis. It impacted his life greatly, but did not define it. The immediate family will honor Adam's life with a private celebration (we're talking booyah, beer and a campfire--all things Adam just loved). The family would like to thank the phenomenal staff of St. Paul Elder Services and the Theda Care Hospice staff. Every single employee showed incredible attentiveness, cheerfulness, good humor, compassion, expert care and love not only for Adam, but our entire family. One does not enter nursing home care expecting to make friends, but that is exactly what happened for Adam. He made connections with everyone he encountered because they not only wanted to care for him, they wanted to KNOW him. You cannot imagine how this touched our family and how you made an incredibly difficult time more bearable.
