Adolph "Andy" Wypiszinski, age 86, of De Pere, WI passed away peacefully at Aurora Baycare Medical Center, Green Bay, WI, on February 17, 2025.
Andy was born on October 22,1938 to the late Adolph and Mary (Piechota) Wypiszinski. He attended St. Philips grade school, Central Catholic High School, and was a 1957 graduate of Preble High School where he was an outstanding football and baseball athlete. He also served in the National Guard. On September 1, 1962, he married Barb Varney at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Green Bay.
Andy, known to many as "Whipp", was co-owner of Sports Villa "House of Yamaha", Green Bay, WI, for 15 plus years where he made many connections with the motorcycle and snowmobile community.
Andy was a lifelong fan of the Green Bay Packers. He also loved being active and enjoyed many outdoor sports. He was an accomplished motocross and snowmobile racer in his younger years and later became a well-respected bicycle mechanic and avid bicyclist. Over the years he could also be seen snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and rollerblading. He and his wife, Barb, have biked all over the country and regularly put on thousands of miles each year. He was an adored family member and friend who loved to make everyone laugh with his jokes, stories, and general antics.
Andy is survived by his loving wife and bicycling partner, Barb Varney; their children Sue (Mark) Meslany, John (Karin) Wypiszinski, Sara (Joe) Levisky, and Leigh (Joe) Trainor; six grandchildren, Emily Wypiszinski, Jacob Wypiszinski, Joshua Levisky, Ryan Levisky, Amanda (Austin) Buoy, and Sammy Trainor; three great grandchildren, Eric, Levi, and Nicole; sister Jean Levitz; brother-in-law Bill (Donna) Varney, sister-in-law Beverly (Bob) Bauer; uncle Ray Piechota and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, father- and mother-in-law John and Marion Varney, brother-in-law Stan Levitz; as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Andy's family will greet friends and relatives at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth St., De Pere, WI 54115, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday, March 14, 2025. A memorial service will begin at 6:00 pm with Sheila DeLuca officiating.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Aurora BayCare Medical Center and the Aurora Health at Home hospice team for their compassionate care and support.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made directly to the family.
