Agnes "Aggie" Gerrits, 102, died Sunday, June 3, 2012. She was born on June 18, 1909 in Bellevue, WI to the late Edward and Theresa (Mathys) Vanden Avond. On May 29, 1937 she married Peter Gerrits at St. Willebrord's in Green Bay, WI.
Aggie loved to laugh, play cards and bingo, be with people, and a good party. She was a great cook. She was a member of the Mission Society at Our Lady of Lourdes Family Parish.
Aggie is survived by her son, Bob (Karen) Gerrits; three grandchildren, Lisa, Scott, and Troy; three great-grandchildren, Helena, Naudia, and Malora; two sisters-in-law, Irma Vanden Avond and Beatrice Hansen, as well as many nieces, nephews, especially Pat Vanden Avond.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Mary Gerrits; three sisters, Florence Schweiner, Irene Nachtwey, and Myrtle Karchinski as well as six brothers, Fred, Irv, Clem, Harvey, Jim, and Earl Vanden Avond.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Family Parish, corner of Suburban Drive and Lourdes Avenue, from 9am until 10:30am when a Mass of Christian burial will be held with Father Tim Shillcox, O.
