Obituary

Alan "Al" R. Jorgenson, 61, of Green Bay, passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at a local hospital. He was born in Green Bay, WI on November 18, 1951, a son of the late Norbert and Harriett (Cornelius) Jorgenson, Sr. On November 29, 1969 he married Kathryn "Kitty" Engels in Green Bay, WI. Al owned Brown County Roofing and then a local tavern for many years, after which he was grateful to be able to lease the land to the new tavern owners and keep the business running. He proudly spent the last ten years owning and maintaining rental properties. Al loved to officiate any sport at any level of play, including Packer practices in the early 90's. He was a skilled woodworker who enjoyed his time up north at the cabin, watching the Packers, hunting, fishing, playing bingo and Yahtzee. Most of all though, Al loved the time he had with his wife, children and his grandchildren. Al is survived by his wife Kathryn "Kitty" Jorgenson; four children: Kevin (Tracy) Jorgenson, Kenneth Jorgenson, Kelly Jorgenson, and Katie (Chad) Hladilek; five grandchildren: Kayleigh, Casey, Jessie, Morgan, and Gregory. He is further survived by his siblings: Norbert, Jr, Harold (Mary), Russell, Carol Prendiville, Sharon, Barb (Larry) Reynolds, and Don; Jim Christensen, who gave the greatest gift of a kidney and allowed Al 14 more years to enjoy time with his family; good friend and business partner Warren Wanezek; his in-laws: Larry (Rosie) Engels, Bonnie (Jeff) Eilts, Ken Engels, John Berg, and Chuck Erler; nieces, nephews, and many friends known throughout the years. Al was preceded in death by his parents; brother Gerald, father in-law Harold and mother in-law Louise Engels, nephews Tommy Jr, Larry Jr; nieces Yvonne and Annette; brother-in-law Tom Prendiville, and sisters-in-law Judy Berg and Pat Erler.
