Obituary

Alan Francis Micke, 64, Kaukauna and longtime resident of Greenleaf, WI, passed away on January 19, 2018. He was born November 18, 1953 to Raymond and Rosella (Vandenberg) Micke in Green Bay, WI. Al attended Brillion High School. On May 27, 1977 Al married the former Theresa "Tessie" Van Gheem Al was a mechanic for 28 years with Interstate Brands. He also spent a long time as a school bus driver for Lamers Bus Lines and most recently he was a city bus driver for the City of Appleton. Al was very involved with his community, he was a member of the Greenleaf/Wrightstown Optimist Club, a School Board member, and for a long time he was the coordinator of the Wrightstown area Rec. Soccer Program. Al's greatest joy was his grandchildren and spending time with his family. He enjoyed cooking, lending a hand whenever/wherever he could, and putzing with projects. Al is survived by his wife Tessie; children: Brad (Julie) Micke, Craig (Amy) Micke, Stephanie (Tristain) Thomas, and Carmen (Aaron) McCune; his grandchildren: Alexis, Madison, Owen, Brandt, Ryan, Isaiah, and baby McCune. He is further survived by his siblings: Richard (Nancy) Micke, Donald (special friend Marge) Micke, Kenneth (Dorothy) Micke, Dale (Nancy) Micke, and Dennis (Linda) Micke; and many nieces and nephews. Al was preceded in death by his parents; Raymond "Ray" and Rosella "Rose" Micke; and sister-in-law Mary Micke. Family and friends may visit on Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at RYAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 305 N. Tenth St, De Pere. Visitation will continue on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at First Congregational Church United Church of Christ, 1018 Cedar St, De Pere, WI. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. Nancy Zorn Micke officiating. Please visit www.ryanfh.com to send a condolence to Al's family. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society of Wisconsin. Al's family would like to thank Unity Hospice, Dr. Ryan, Green Bay Oncology, Froedtert, St. Vincent 9th floor, Community Benefit Tree, Valley Transit, ComedyCity Cares, and all family and friends for their love, support, and care shown to Al.
