Alfred Joseph (Butch) Lewison, 76, of De Pere, WI formerly of Strum, WI passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 11, 2017.
He was born on June 14, 1941 in Milwaukee, WI to the late Alden and Lucille Lewison. Al loved hunting, fishing, spending time with family and friends, watching the Packers and enjoying the companionship of his beloved dog Maggie and "great grand dog", Zoey. All those who met him appreciated his humor and commitment to family. Al was a true patriot and avid supporter of our troops.
Al graduated from Eleva/Strum High School in 1959, where he excelled in football, basketball and baseball. He started working at the age of 15 years old to cover room and board when his parents moved away, so he could stay in Strum and finish high school. Al worked at several different jobs after high school before going on to further his education. He worked for Palmer Indrebo at the Standard gas station and the lumber yard in Strum, WI before moving to Eau Claire, WI where he worked for the Holsom Bread Company as a route man.
After graduating from the Eau Claire Technical College with an Associate Degree in Computer Science, he worked as a computer analyst for Gould in Eau Claire, WI and Herrschners in Stevens Point, WI. From there he was recruited to work as a computer systems analyst for Nicor Gas in Naperville, IL. Al purchased a home in De Pere, WI in 2002, where he eventually moved after retiring from Nicor Gas. He was residing in his own home until his death.
Al is survived by his daughter, Heather (Allan) Pepin, of Fort Bragg, NC; one grandson, Zachary (Kayla) Jaraczewski, of De Pere, WI; two brothers, Rick (Diane) Lewison of Baraboo, WI and Timothy (Marge) Lewison of Eau Claire, WI and 13 nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alden and Lucille Lewison, a sister, Elsie (Don) Olson and a brother, Gaylord (Ruth) Lewison.
