Alfreda E. Green, 98, Oneida, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 19, 2023. She was born in Oneida on June 29, 1924, to the late Milton and Marena (Doxtator) Smith.
Alfreda married Carl Danforth, and he preceded her in death, she then married Allen Green in 1964.
She had worked for the U.S. Postal Service, and then for N.W.T.C. as a G.E.D. tutoring assistant. Alfreda had served on numerous committees over the years for the Oneida Nation.
Alfreda enjoyed playing cards, putting puzzles together, playing scrabble and cooking, but above all it was time with her family that meant the most to her.
She is survived by her daughter Carole Liggins, her grandchildren; Chrissy Liggins, Walter Wilber, and Lisa (Thurston Denny) Liggins. Great grandchildren; Wesley, Marena, CJ, AJ, Grace, Bailey, Junior, her sister Becky Nicholas, as well as nieces and nephews.
Alfreda was preceded in death by her husbands, a daughter Marena Pamanet, grandchildren; Carla, Scott, Amy, her siblings; Edith Reed, Dean Smith, Vernon Smith, Hamilton Smith, Spencer Smith, Dorothy Talkenson, Milton Smith Jr., Sylvester "Big Sal" Smith, Pricilla Smith, Erwin Smith, Raymond "Robin" Smith, and brother -in-law Eldred Nicholas.

Friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere on Saturday, March 25th from 9:00AM – 10:50AM. The Oneida Hymn Singers will sing at 10:30AM, followed by Robert Cornelius VFW Post 7784 Auxiliary Service at 10:50AM. Funeral service for Alfreda will take place immediately following with Deacon Deborah Heckel officiating. Burial to follow at Holy Apostles Cemetery, Oneida.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Holy Apostles Church in Alfreda's name.
