Obituary

Allen "Oop" "Al" Pelishek, 85, of De Pere, Wisconsin, passed away on February 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on October 25, 1940, in Spruce, WI to the late Margaret and Adolph Pelishek, Al grew up with a deep appreciation for the outdoors and the simple joys of life. He graduated from Lena High School in 1957 and continued to gather with his classmates for many years, cherishing friendships that spanned decades.

On September 3, 1966, Al married the love of his life, Pat (Kowalczyk). Together they created a life filled with love, laughter, and countless road trips—always by car—whether traveling just the two of them or alongside close friends. Their shared love for the Northwoods led them to enjoy several places "up north," where Al felt most at home. He cherished time spent in the woods, hunting, and "puttering" with tools, projects, and anything that invited a little tinkering.

Al dedicated more than 25 years to his career at Procter & Gamble in Green Bay, where he was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and the friendships he built along the way.

Family was the heart of Oop's world. He is survived by his loving wife, Pat; their daughter, Carrie (Scheffen); and two grandchildren, Allena (Brock) Maroszek and Trevor Scheffen. Al shared a deep and special bond with Trevor—his best friend and constant sidekick. Together they spent countless days in the woods chopping trees, learning tools, and target shooting. These were some of Al's proudest moments.

Oop also had a special place in the hearts of his extended family. He was known as the "fun uncle," always bringing the excitement. Whether it was jet skis, water skiing, or snowmobiles, he made sure there was always something cool to do. He especially loved watching his great-nephews play basketball, cheering them on with pride.

His presence will be deeply missed, but the stories and love he shared will live on in all who knew him.

Private family services will be held in Al's honor.
