Alvin B. Sigl, 84, formerly of De Pere died suddenly at a hospital in Naples, Florida on Wednesday June 12, 2013. Al was born January 11, 1929 a son of George and Marcella (Vandermoss) Sigl. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the VFW Posts in De Pere and Naples, FL. Following his service he worked as a paper maker at Fort Howard and retired after 35 years of service. Al was united in marriage to Blanche Baeten, and they made their home in De Pere where they raised four children. Al and Blanche belonged to the Green Bay Yacht Club and enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family on their boat. After retiring Al and Blanche moved to Naples, Florida where Al worked part time for Hertz Rental Car. Al is survived by his wife of 55 years Blanche, his children; Douglas Sigl of De Pere, daughter Theresa Bork (Phillip Wills) of Naples, FL. His daughter Mary Kay (Wayne) Vander Loop of Las Vegas, NV. and son Bruce (Patti) Sigl of De Pere. Al's grandchildren also survive him; Luke (Jodie) Sigl, Robin and Alex Bork, Tomas (Renee) Vander Loop, Maria Vander Loop, Josh and Nick Sigl, and Marissa Besson. Four great grandchildren; Conor Sigl, Noah Vander Loop, Conor and Serenity Vander Loop. His brother Lloyd Sigl of De Pere further survives. Al was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, George, Harold and Donald, three sisters, Olive Andersen, Eleanor Lesatz, Nathalie Smith as well as two great-grandchildren, Jacob Alvin Sigl and Susan Vander Loop. Friends and family may call at the RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 N. Tenth Street in De Pere on Tuesday June 18, 2013 from 4 7pm. Visitation will continue after 9am Wednesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family corner of Lourdes Ave and Suburban Drive in De Pere.
