Alvira M. Lieuwen, 93, of De Pere passed away peacefully Saturday morning, April 28, 2012. She was born on November 11, 1918 in De Pere to the late Peter and Laura (Valcq) Nehring. On January 29, 1940 Alvira married the late John E. Lieuwen. She and John lived on the Fox River for many years and enjoyed the wildlife that visited their yard. She was an avid reader, did crossword puzzles and enjoyed spending time with her family. Alvira is survived by her daughter Kay (Paul) Roffers and her daughter-in-law Rosie Lieuwen. Her grandchildren also survive; Shelia (Ralph) Dettmann, Sarah Roffers, Patty (Jeff) Landin, Jamie Roffers, Jenny (Kevin) Fye, Gary (Heidi) Lieuwen, Kim (Craig) Rosner, and Dan Lieuwen. Alvira's great grandchildren; Megan and Hannah Fye, Conner Rosner, Carson and Alex Landin, Kelsey, Jerrad, Brennan Dettmann, Cooper Lieuwen as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband Alvira was preceded in death by her daughter Eileen, her son's Jerry and Mike, her in-laws Samuel (Ida) Lieuwen and her sisters Marie and Katherine.
