Obituary

Mrs. Harold (Arleen) Vanden Heuvel, 93, of De Pere, Town of Lawrence, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, February 4, 2018. She was born December 29, 1924, the daughter of the late Frank and Cecilia (Van Gheem) Roffers. She was united in marriage to Harold Vanden Heuvel on November 5, 1971 at St. Boniface Church, De Pere. Arleen was preceded in death by her husband Harold on September 12, 2013. Arleen graduated from St. Boniface Grade School and was employed at Fort Howard Paper Mill. Arleen was a member of Catholic National Foresters and Catholic Financial Life and also a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. Arleen is survived by a sister Dolores Holl; a brother and sister-in-law Harvey (Barbara) Roffers, brother-in-law Robert Grosse. Arleen also had three Godchildren: Denise Beaudry, Annette Cook, and Peter Grosse. Arleen is survived by many wonderful nieces, and nephews: Celine Rabida, Annette (Christopher) Cook, Michael Holl, Keith Holl, Denise (Jim) Beaudry, Patricia (Gary) Nelson, Jeannine (Brian) Vanden Heuvel, Lynn (Brian) Katers, Lisa (Todd) Ambrosius, Kendra (Todd) Deschane, Peter Grosse, Julie Kaftan, Jim (Jennifer) Grosse, and many great nieces and nephews. Harold's wonderful nieces and nephews also survive: Bill (Joy) Vanden Heuvel, Elizabeth (Ralph) von dem Hagen, Rick (Deb) Vanden Heuvel, Nancy (Dave) Stellflug, Mary (Robin) Adey, Theresa (Corey) Steffen, Patricia (Joe) Champ, Jean (Bill) Lemke, John Vanden Heuvel, and many great nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Harold she was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Cecilia Roffers; two sisters Rita Jarosinski and Donna May Grosse; brother Norman Roffers; two brothers-in-law Walter Jarosinski and Roy Holl; Harold's parents William and Agnes Vanden Heuvel; and his brother Albert (Sylvan) and Theresa Vanden Heuvel; nephew Jeff Kaftan; and a great nephew Michael Vanden Heuvel. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, 1305 Lourdes Ave, De Pere. Visitation will continue on Friday, February 9, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish from 9:30 to 11:00 AM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM with Fr. Benny Jacob, O. Praem. and Fr. Tim Shillcox, O. Praem. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
