Audrey Van Camp, 79, of De Pere, was called to Heaven on Wednesday October 20, 2010. The daughter of the late Fred and Anna (Schumacher) Van Handel was born August 21, 1931 in the Town of VandenBroek. She married Fabian Van Camp on January 20, 1953 at St. John Catholic Church, Little Chute. He preceded her in death January 28, 2005. They are united once again.
Audrey was an active member of the community and was active in her church. She was a member and Past President of the De Pere VFW Auxiliary Post 2113, as well as Past Eighth District President. Audrey had cooked for years at the VFW Club in De Pere and was well known throughout the area for her cooking expertise. She was in food service for many years at Westwood Elementary School. Audrey was a volunteer activist for the needs of handicapped children. She enjoyed her Tuesday morning breakfast club with her lady friends.
She was a great Mother and Grandmother and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her children and grandchildren Kathy and Dan Van Den Elzen, De Pere, and their children, Mark and Ann, Patty and Harold Trinkner, De Pere and their children, Chris and Rick (Sarah), Bill and Jody Van Camp, De Pere and their children, Jeremy (Hiedi), Tim (Tina) and Billie Jo (Justin), John and Donna Van Camp of Okemos, MI and their children, Ian and Alissa, Joey Van Camp, De Pere, Doris and Mike Francken, De Pere, and their children, Emily (Jeff) and Eric, Paul and Linda Van Camp, De Pere and their children, Ben and Megan, special extended family member, Jill Reinhard and Dean, De Pere, and her children, Jason and Aaron. She is further survived by great-grandchildren, Jay, Alexis, Jordan, Jordan, Breanna and Madison. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters Agnes Smudde, Rich (Grace) Van Handel, Ursula (Clarence) Vanden Heuvel, Ervin (Ruth) Van Handel. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, in-laws, Lorna, Virgil, Lil (Bernard), Marge, Rita (Cliff), Mary (Bob), and Ken (Nancy) and numerous other relatives. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Fabian, and brothers and sisters, Catherine, Marie, Mathias, Irene, Arthur, and Bill, and in-laws, Jerome, Mike, Marian, Janet, Al, Bernice, George, Bonnie, Rueben, Butch, Jerome, Al, LaVerne, Barb, Laurie, Bernard and Cyril.
Family and friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 305 North Tenth Street, De Pere from 1:00 to 5:00 pm on Sunday October 24, 2010. Parish prayer service will be held at 4:00 pm. VFW Auxiliary Service will be held at 4:30 pm. Visitation will continue at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, corner of Lourdes Avenue and Suburban Drive, De Pere from 9:30 to 10:15 am Monday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am Monday at the church with Father Roland DePeaux, O.Praem. and Father Conrad Kratz, O. Praem., officiating. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
