B. Dale Morgan of Green Bay died on Tuesday September 13, 2011. He was a compassionate gentle man with a quirky little sense of humor and a concern for others. Born in Antigo, Wi. on August 9, 1914 to the late Harrison and Julia (Cherf) Morgan. He lived there until 1960. He worked in many different fields during his life. During the depression he was a cook in a CCC camp. He obtained an agriculture degree from UW in Madison in 1936. He worked for 24 years as a machinist at Paper Converting Machine Company in Green Bay. Said it was the best move and job he had ever made. He was very proud to be part of the formation of the PCMC Credit Union during this time, and was a long standing member of the Board of Directors. He was always busy trying new things. After his retirement in 1978 he learned wood carving and many of our homes have a bird or animal carving that he made. He was an avid gardener and when the crops had a bumper yield he would put produce on a roadside stand and ask people to help themselves. Among his many volunteer jobs was delivering Meals on Wheels. He did this until he was 80 years old. He was ringing the Salvation Army bell until he was 92. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in De Pere. For many years he obtained the church Christmas tree and set it up for them.
Dale is survived by his wife of71 years Erma (Guenthner), a daughter, Gloria (Burton) Richards, Flat Rock, North Carolina, two sons, Dale (Gerri) Morgan of Luxemburg and Roger (Pam) Morgan of Green Bay. He is further survived by seven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
