Obituary

Barbara Ann "Becky" Rottier (DeRuyter), aged 81, formerly of Seymour, WI passed away in Oneida, Wisconsin, on July 13, 2024. Born on September 16, 1942, in Green Bay, she remained a lifelong resident of the area, cherished for her role as a devoted mother, sister, and friend.

Becky graduated from West De Pere High School and then married the love of her life, Raphael Rottier, in November 1961. She spent the next 30 years devoted to raising her 6 children and maintaining her home. She greatly enjoyed all her children's sporting activities and could be found throwing baseballs in the yard with her sons. She continued this hobby by supporting her grandchildren by attending their numerous sporting activities be it football, baseball, basketball, track, soccer, dance, or swimming. She was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, and Milwaukee Bucks never missing a game. At the age of 50 she ventured into the "working" world for Sams Club in Green Bay, WI where she was an employee who could be counted on to be on time and to get the job done regardless of shift or task assigned for the next 25 years.

Becky is survived by her loving children, Roy (Crystal), Lynn (Jerry) Zegers, Richard (Karyn), Scott, Kelly (Karen), and son in law Russ King; her siblings, Linda Scannell, David (Gail) DeRuyter, Dale (Susan) DeRuyter, Dean (Tina) DeRuyter, Cindy (Brian) Lisse, and Dawn (Tom) Jensen; her former in-laws: Agnes Zitzelsberger, Barb Rottier, Norbert (Teena) Rottier, Ralph (Julie) Rottier, Thomas (Betty) Rottier, Michael Rottier, Betty (John) Otto, and Harold (Rita) Rottier. Her legacy continues through her thirteen grandchildren: Michelle, Seth, Kristen, Brian, Emily, Joel, Troy, Bret, Lauren, Alex, Breanna, Danielle, and Jacki and 6 Great Grandchildren: Hayden, Ava, Aria, Josie, Camden and Mason.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lori King; parents, Ernest and Alma DeRuyter; sister, Patricia (Harold) Blosser, former husband, Raphael Rottier, brothers-in-law Lester Zitzelsberger, Donald Rottier, Andy Scannell and Harold Blosser, sister-in-law Judy Rottier, nephews Michael Beno, Jeff Rottier, Jake DeRuyter, and Mark Rottier, and numerous aunts and uncles.

A wake will be held on Saturday, July 20, from 9am to 11am followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 130 St. Matthews Street, Green Bay, WI. The Ryan Funeral Home of De Pere, Wisconsin, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Becky's memory will be cherished by all who knew her, as a beacon of love, laughter, determination, and strength within her family.
