Benjamin John Gerbers age 45 passed away at Aurora Hospital ICU from a stroke on May 11, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Once taken off life support he left like a rocket. That was his gift to his mom on Mothers Day. Ben never did anything slowly.

He graduated from East De Pere High School in 1999 and went to work in the family business. He was nurtured and taught by Tom and became his right hand man. They worked side by side for 30 years.

He lived his entire life in De Pere. Growing up we camped, skied in Wisconsin, Michigan and out West. We traveled to Yellowstone, his favorite part was getting fireworks from a roadside stand. We also vacationed in Disney World. He especially loved all the time spent with our big familly during Christmas, Thanksgiviing and many other special occasions.

Bens friends meant so much to him, many from early childhood. They are still so close and we deeply appreciate them. They helped him through many rough patches and shared many parties on the "ledge" and special memories.

He never backed away from a new adventure or a chance to have fun.

Also a big fan of the Brewers, Packers and Bucks and enjoyed the weekly came of cards with his buddies.

The light of his life was his daughter McKenna, he taught her how to smile and laugh and she even got sick in his brand new truck a few times. He cared for her lovingly and was an amazing father.

If you ever met Ben you would have learned about his kind and loving heart. He was always there to lend a hand to anyone.

He is survived by Linda and Tom Schingen, sister Niki Gerbers, niece Lyla, nephew Henry, sister Stefani & Adam Luebke , brother Justin and partner Brian, stepmom Sherry Gerbers

He was preceded in death by his daughter McKenna Schink and father Steve Gerbers.
