Benjamin A. Noskowiak, 83, De Pere, passed away peacefully, with family by his side on Tuesday morning, December 20, 2022. The son of Thomas and Angeline (Maciora) Noskowiak was born on December 17, 1939.
On August 26, 1961, Ben married Carol Gilson at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greenleaf. Carol preceded him in death in 1991, they were married for 30 years.
Ben attended De Pere High School and was in the United States Army Reserve from 1958-1964. Ben retired as a machinist from Nichol Tool & Die, Green Bay and then worked part-time at Fleet Farm, East Green Bay.
In his younger years Ben enjoyed coaching basketball at St Mary's Catholic School, Greenleaf and was proud of the Trojans perfect record 1973-1974 season. He spent a lot of time in his home garage, listening to Polka music while working on; his lathe, his many convertibles he had throughout the years, and creating many unique projects, including a Ford Pinto truck. He had a very creative mind.
He loved the outdoors; he spent a lot of time at his cottage up north and on his pontoon boat. He enjoyed hunting and was extremely proud of the 1 horned doe he got in 1978, very unusual. He enjoyed spending time with friends, going to Oak Street Café for coffee, Chicago Street Pub, and attending the Pink Flamingo.
Ben is survived by his children; Annette Noskowiak (fiancé Mark Rappette), Gary & Jane Noskowiak, Maureen & Kevin Boylan, Sharon & Dean Diedrick, Mary & Patrick Kelly, Lisa & Michael Coonen, Sue & Matthew McVey, John & Ann Noskowiak.
17 Grandchildren; Jenna & Brooke Vande Voort, Sara Noskowiak, Nickolas, Stephanie, & Amanda (fiancé Blake) Boylan, Brittany & Jesse Chopin, Allyson & Peter Van Zeeland, Frankie & Ryan Hopfensperger, Drew Diedrick (special friend Meghan), Heather & Bob Jansen, Levi & Mariah Ansell, Joseph Coonen, Megan & Madeline McVey, R¬¬achel & Caleb Noskowiak.
6 Great-Grandchildren.
He is further survived by his siblings; Thomas & Pat Noskowiak, Richard (Dick) & Sally Noskowiak, Brother-in-law Arnie Kurth. Carol's siblings; Mary & Ken Van Wychen, Kathy & Mike Keyzer, Daniel & Bonnie Gilson, Susan & Ron Laatsch, Joseph & Lisa Gilson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol; parents, Thomas and Angeline; Sister Cecilia Noskowiak, Sister Genny Kurth, Sister-in-law Nancy Noskowiak, Father-in-law Ivan Gilson, Mother-in-law Anna Jane Verbeten, Step-father-in-law Rodney Verbeten, Brother-in law Ronald (Butch) Gilson, and ¬¬Son-in-law John Vande Voort.
Family and friends may visit at St. Clare Parish - St. Mary Site, 2218 Day St, Greenleaf, beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, January 2, 2023. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Bob Kabat officiating.
The family would like to thank the staff at Anna's house for their patience and care, and to the entire staff at Bellin Hospital for the compassionate care the past few weeks.
