Obituary

Bernice M. Vorpahl 84, Ashwaubenon passed away Tuesday morning, May 5, 2009 after living with cancer for 6 years. She was born February 26, 1925 in Morgan, WI to the late Albert and Elsie Rallof. On June 19, 1948 she was united in marriage to Raymond Vorpahl. Bernice is a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Green Bay, where she was a Sunday School Teacher and a former Director of Mission Sewing. Bernice had also taught grade school in both Oconto and Brown Counties. She had been a Foster mother for 20 years, she had also loved quilting and gardening. She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Raymond, and her children; Gary (Pam) Vorpahl, Joan (Marvin) Ness, Kenneth (Kathy) Vorpahl, Jeff (Annette) Vorpahl, Joel (Debbie) Vorpahl, Robert Vorpahl, Matthew (Tricia) Vorpahl, as well as 16 grandchildren, 1 great grand daughter, and her sister in law Lorraine Rallof. Bernice was preceded in death by her infant son, John Vorpahl, her parents; Albert and Elsie Rallof, and her sister Florence Rallof, and brother James Rallof. Friends may call at the RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 N. Tenth Street De Pere from 4 7pm Friday. Visitation will continue after 10:00am on Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church 321 S. Madison Green Bay, until time of service at 11:00am with Rev. Larry Lange officiating. Burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery.
