Bert L. French, 80, De Pere, passed away on Thursday evening November 6, 2014 in his daughter's loving arms. The son of the late Robert and Bertha Burt French was born on August 17, 1934. Bert had worked at Nicolet Paper Company for many years. He also owned BJ's Midway on Main Ave. in De Pere. Bert was a lifelong resident of the area. Bert is survived by his first wife Helen French, and their children, Terry (Joy) French, Jackie (Paul) Edlebeck, Brian (Sabine) French, his grandchildren, Jesse, Jason, Joanna, Jamie, Ryan, Christopher, and Shelby. His 13 great grandchildren. Bert's sister, Sharon (Gary) Steiner, and Sister in law French also survive him, as well as eight stepchildren, Jay, James, Richard, Susan, Patricia, Jerry, Terry, Mary, and his very special friend and companion Nancy Leiterman. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives Caroline French, and Joan French. He was also preceded in death by his Granddaughter Kayla and siblings, Dean, Wayne, Half brother Glen, and in law Barbara French.
