Betty Mae (Kasten) Krueger passed away peacefully on September 22, 2026. Her life was a testament of love, resilience, and the enduring bonds of family. Born on May 2,1937 to Arthur and Lydia Kasten of Morrison, Wisconsin (3rd of 5 children). She became a child of God in baptism at Zion Lutheran Church of Wayside.

Betty was united in marriage with Robert Krueger December 1, 1956. Together they were blessed with six sons and gained four daughters In-law: Richard (Deb), Daniel (Dena), David, Jeffrey (Vicki), Randall (Terrie), and James. Her compassion and strength were sources of inspiration, instilling in them values of kindness, integrity, and perseverance.

Her life was richly blessed with nine grandchildren: Kaitlin and Kali (Noah), Dustin, Andrew, Erin (Sam), Matthew, Megan (Bryan), Cody and McKayla (Nick). They were the joy of her life, and she shared countless hours and took immense pride in their accomplishments and delighted in their company. Ensuring her warmth and caring will continue to resonate through the generations, her love and guidance have also touched the lives of her six great-grandchildren: Mara, Fiona, Cora, Colton, Harper and Clayton. Betty had tender place in her heart for young children, especially babies. Even in her later years, she would get down to their level and play with them. Toy shopping became one of her favorite things to do.

Betty was inspirational in her baking, specializing in kneecaps, chocolate angel food cakes for everybody’s birthday, and decorating holiday cookies. The cookie jar was always full when you came to visit. She enjoyed growing flowers, gardening, sewing, and having that magic touch for making something out of nothing with her own two hands. She was an Elvis Presley fan and devoted herself to her Green Bay Packers.

She was a woman of deep faith and compassion with a generous heart. Throughout her working years, she formed meaningful relationships with the families she served, and those friendships often continued long after her working days had ended. She was blessed by the kindness, friendship, and loving conversations of her church and community.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Lydia Kasten; sister, Joy Brandt; and brother Roy Kasten. She is survived by brother Roger Kasten; and sister Carol Borchardt. She carried their memories close to her heart throughout her life.

Friends and family may come to call on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Hope Lutheran Church, 700 S Superior St, De Pere, for visitation from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation with Pastor Baye officiating. She will be laid to rest alongside her brother, Roy, at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Wayside.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the ICU team at St. Vincent Hospital, the teams at Rennes, and Unity Hospice Care for their exceptional support and compassion—a testament to the kindness that Betty herself extended to all those around her.

Betty's legacy of love and kindness will continue to flourish through her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her life was a beautiful journey, and her spirit will forever remain in our hearts. She now rests in the presence of her Savior who loved her from the beginning.
