Betty Parker, 80, of Oneida, passed away early Thursday morning, September 10, 2009 at home, surrounded by her family. The daughter of the late Calaway and Elizabeth (Webster) Doxtator was born July 2, 1929 in Shawano County. She married Andrew Parker Jr. at the Brown County Courthouse in 1967.
Betty loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, birdwatching and flower gardening. In her quiet time she like to draw, paint, sew, knit and play music. Her most enjoyable times were spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Her family includes her husband Andrew Parker Jr. and children Elaine and Wayne Metoxen, Connie and Phillip Skenandore Jr., Bruce Parker, Janice and Marvin Jourdan, Daniel and Diane Parker, Randall and Geraldine Parker, Lonnie and Kathy Parker. Betty had forty-one grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Survivors also include her brother, Arlie and Erma Doxtator, three sisters, Linda Doxtator and special friend Shirli, Lorna Christjohn and special friend Ida, and Marlene Summers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Calaway Doxtator and Elizabeth Webster, her sister Carol Wood, three brothers Clevie Doxtater and Melvin "Bill" Doxtater, Frank Doxtater, and great-great-grandson Kordel Metoxen.
Friends may call RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 North Tenth Street De Pere WI from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Sunday September 13, 2009. Oneida Hymn Singers will sing after 6:30 pm. Parish prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue after 9:00 am Monday at Oneida United Methodist Church, Freedom Road, Oneida, until time of service. The funeral will be held at 11:00 am Monday September 14, 2009 at the Church with Pastor Earl L. Smith, officiating. Burial will be held in the Church Cemetery.
