Bob Krimbas, age 76 of Forest Park, IL died Tuesday, November 17, 2015 after a long battle with emphysema and COPD. The son of the late Christos and Georgia (Letsou) Krimbas was born February 10, 1939 in Vlassia Kalavriton, Greece. After graduating high school, Bob proudly served his homeland in the Greek military. After his military service, Bob began his business career and worked in Greece, Germany and Libya. Then in 1972, he came to the United States. He married Anne Doherty in Chicago December 1975.
Through hard work and determination, Bob became a successful businessman. He owned and operated restaurants in Illinois, Indiana, and Nebraska. He was especially proud of his restaurant, "It's Greek to Me" in DeKalb, Illinois. In his retirement, Bob travelled to festivals across the United States sharing his love for Greek food with many people. Bob took great pride in his work, but his love of family always came first. Bob will be remembered for his unconditional love for family and friends and generous spirit.Bob is survived by his daughter, Georgia (Casey) Schetter of De Pere; grandchildren, Amber Gibson of Bridgeview IL, Jacob Schetter and Matthew Schetter of De Pere; siblings, Maria Krimba, Sotiris (Pelagia) Krimbas, Kostas (Niki) Krimbas, Aggelos (Helen) Krimbas, Kyriaki (Andreas Methenitis ) Krimba, Vasso (Leonidas Tsiros) Krimba, Nikos (ex-wife Vasso) Krimbas, Aristoteles (Dimitra ) Krimbas; many nieces and nephews in Greece, Ex-wife Anne Eubank (John) of Apache Junction, AZ, and many good friends in the Chicago Greek Community and across the country. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and brother in law, Stelios Methenitis.Friends and family may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 305 North Tenth Street, De Pere, WI on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm.
