IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bonnie Dorothy
Dunks
February 11, 1953 – April 28, 2024
Bonnie Dorothy Dunks (Janz), age 71, passed away peacefully with her family by her side after a short battle with cancer. She was born in Green Bay, WI on February 11, 1953, to Martin and Marcella Janz (Roels).
Bonnie was a graduate of West De Pere High School. She married Jim Dunks on February 5, 1972, at Immaculate Conception Church. They were blessed with three daughters and a son. Bonnie was a sweet, compassionate, and understanding mother and wife. She always put others before herself.
Throughout the course of her life her most important role was caring and raising her four children. Upon entering the workforce, she held multiple positions finding her passion in retail working for ShopKo. She retired from ShopKo as an Administrative Assistant.
Bonnie enjoyed her eight grandchildren the most. She always made it a priority to attend as many of their events as possible. She was also recently blessed with a great grandson who she enjoyed spending time with and babysitting whenever she could. She spent most weekends enjoying her cottage up north. The cottage was a main center point for creating family memories and traditions; like fishing, swimming in the lake, campfires, pontoon boat rides, and walks in the woods. There you would find her baking "papa" cookies, making popcorn, and other treats for her family and friends. Bonnie was also an avid gardener, often canning her annual harvests. Outside of her family and friends, she really enjoyed listening to the brewers with a good glass of wine.
Bonnie is survived by her husband Jim; her children Lola (Chad) Thomson, Krissy (Steve) DeMoulin, and Ken (Brittany) Dunks; grandchildren Mac, Jacob, Alexa, Bryce, Alanna, Adriana, Kaden, and Cody; great grandchild Henry; brothers, sisters, and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her daughter Nancy.
Family and friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere from 3:00-7:00 on Friday, May 3, 2024. Fr. Paul Paider will preside at 7:00 pm for a service for Bonnie.
The family would like to say a special thank you to both the Oncology and Intensive Care Unit teams at Marshfield Clinic in Weston for the amazing care and compassion they showed to her and the family.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established.
