Corporal Bruce Calvin Boatwright, 62, Green Bay, passed away at home peacefully on Tuesday evening, August 27, 2024. The son of Frank and Marilyn (Berg) was born in Oregon on March 29, 1962.
Bruce enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in April 1979 where he proudly served with the 3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion at Camp Pendleton CA; as a Basic Tank and Assault Amphibious Vehicle Crewman and Hawk Missile System Operator. After completing 17 unit assignments throughout the world, he was honorably discharged in April 1991.
Bruce continued to be genuinely dedicated to the United State Marine Corps until his gate watch concluded. SEMPER FI
Additionally, he volunteered his time to help out numerous military organizations and other charities, including The Jerabek Challenge.
After serving his time, he enjoyed being outdoors, camping, repelling, and competing in shooting competitions. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and helping out at the family's horse stable.
Bruce will be profoundly missed by his three daughters Angel (Kai) Boatwright, Mae (Derek) Worley, Lydia (Nick) Janssen, his grandchildren Hayden, Brielee, Easton and Craig, his mother Marilyn, brothers Rick and David, sister Barbara, and four adopted siblings, as well as many nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his significant other, the love of his life; Susan Bellin, his father Frank, and son Craig.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Unity for their brief care of Bruce.
Private family services and military honors were held at Ryan Funeral Home.
