Bruce L. Williams, 72, resident of De Pere passed away on February 19, 2022. He was born on July 16, 1949 in Merrill Wisconsin to Marjorie (Hassel) and Roland Williams. He graduated from Boys Tech High School in Milwaukee and then graduated with Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from MSOE and returned to obtain his Professional Engineer Certification. He married Melody Eddings on September 10, 1967 in Milwaukee Wisconsin. They had four daughters, moved from Milwaukee, to Appleton, then Alabama and on to Michigan before settling in their home south of De Pere where they continue to reside. Bruce retired in 2013 from his career as an engineer in the paper industry and thoroughly enjoyed his retirement.
Bruce was strongly committed to his family and community. He was an active member of the Faith Chapel family and was involved with the Men's Breakfast, bible study and missions. He often filled in for Santa at the NEW Zoo, and many other places. He strongly believed this was his gift to give and refused to be paid. Bruce was an avid gardener, and had a beautiful orchard. Bruce gave away more apples than he ever sold. He loved his bees and woodworking and loved to make thing for his grandchildren. There wasn't a problem Bruce couldn't solve. He was the recipient of many phone calls to ask how to fix whatever someone needed help with. He was always willing to lend a hand.
Bruce loved the outdoors, and loved to hunt, and fish. He shared the great outdoors with his family. He often took his children, and grandchildren, and great grandchildren camping. He would take whichever child was fussy and walk around the campground, and always put them to sleep. He loved to show and teach the children about the trees and plants they would encounter as he hiked with them through the woods.
Bruce loved to travel with his wife, Melody. They have visited much of the United States as well as a trip to Europe. The loved to spend time in Hawaii and to cruise the great blue seas.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Melody and mother, Marjorie and his 4 brothers and 2 sisters. His four daughter's and their spouses, Melissa (Wayne) Linssen, Melinda (Kevin) Mommaerts, Maranda (Dave) Fischer, and Meredith (Chris) Johnson. He is survived by his grandchildren, Liz (Josh) Nies, Joshua (Angela) Linssen, Jacob (Jeni) Linssen, Andrew (Elizabeth) Steffel, Jason (Adrielle) Linssen, Krystal (Rob) Bullock, Chase (Tara) Miller, Zachary (Regina Neenan) Steffel, Alison (Kyle) Geohegan, Samantha (Dustin Sewell) Miller, Jordyn (Collin) Gaie, Brandon (Valerie Cain) Miller, Meganne (Corbin Rottier) Williams, Liam Johnson, and Emma Johnson. As well as by 25 Great Grandchildren. (and his dog Freckles)
Bruce is preceded in death by his father, Roland, and Sister, Dawn, as well as his father in law and mother in law, Rocky and Betty Eddings.
Visitation will be from 11am to 12pm at Faith Chapel 800 High Meadow Court, Green Bay, WI 54311.
A Memorial Service will follow at 12pm also at Faith Chapel.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be set up to continue to support community service in Bruce's memory.
