Obituary

Calvin Louis Cornelius Jr., 73, started his journey home on Monday, May 13, 2024 after a long battle with cancer. He was born June 1, 1951 to the late Calvin Sr. and Arlene (Doxtator) Cornelius.

Calvin worked for the Oneida Nation until his retirement. In his younger years, he was a weightlifter and won the state and national title in his division.

He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and watching sports, especially the Packers and Brewers. He liked playing horseshoes and going to do some gambling. More than anything, he liked spending time with his family and son, Joseff.

Calvin is survived by his children, Joseff Cornelius, Bobbie Jo Kazaluckas (Tina) and Joel Skenandore; significant other, Lois Domencich; step-children, Stephanie Metoxen, Crystal Cornelius and Bradly "Buffalo" Cornelius; and grandchild, Bradon. He is further survived by his brothers and sisters, Mary Metoxen, Brenda Danforth, Randy (Celestine) Cornelius, Marlene (Erv) John and Maury (Michelle) Cornelius; and many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Arlene; siblings, Robert Cornelius, Patsy Kofler and Bette Lou Stevens; great-nephew Robert William Cornelius; and other extended family.

Family and friends may visit at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth Street, beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2024. The funeral service will begin at noon. Military Honors will follow. Burial will take place at the Oneida Sacred Burial Grounds.
