Carmela Cornelius, 52, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 6, 2022. She was struggling with kidney failure and tried every day to be healthy. She was born August 7, 1970 to the late Karen Jean (Hill) Cornelius l and Spencer Wilson Cornelius.
She loved her special friend, Peterson Skenandore, and her special granddaughter, Serenity Hope Cornelius. More than anything, she was a jolly happy soul and was the life of the party (Carmela Carmela the big fella). She loved Special visits from her daughter, Rachael Rae Johnson and loved going Rummaging and thrift store shopping with her sister, Tina Metoxen. She also earned her high school degree and was furthering her education with college courses. She was also employed for a short while for Oneida Enterprise as a Retail Associate.
Carmela is survived by her kids, Rachael Rae (Bernard B. Brisk) Johnson , Skye Starla (David Teller) Oshkeshequoam, Autumn Leigh (Theresa) Oshkeshequoam-Tucker and Shye Ann Oshkeshequoam; grandchildren, Talone Buffalo Brisk, Handsomebear Brisk,Serenity Hope Cornelius, Rayleigh Skye Oshkeshequoam and Baby Mi Lani; older sister, Tina M. (Todd) Metoxen; aunt, Henrietta Cornelius; great-aunt, Marlene Wiesrock; favorite nephew, Spencer A. Cornelius; special cousin, Terry Lee Pamanet; numerous neices,nephews, family and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Lee (Dick) Cornelius (also known as "Bunty Lee" Cornelius); aunt, Violet (Rudy) Webster; and uncle, Lavender (Mary) Hill.

A Funeral Service will be held for Carmela at 1 PM on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Oneida United Methodist Church, N6037 County Rd. E, De Pere, WI 54115. Family and friends may visit at the church from10 AM to the time of the service. The Oneida Singers will begin singing at 12:30 PM. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Oneida UMC Cemetery.
