Carol (Kay) A. Van Grunsven, 91, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2024. She was born June 5th, 1933 to the late Lawrence and Bernice Janssen. On October 11, 1958, she married Dave Van Grunsven, the guy next door. Together they raised four children. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother as her family was very important to her.

One of her other loves was being a secretary for 24 years at St. Boniface, Abbot Pennings, and Notre Dame Academy. Through these years she met incredible administration, faculty, students, and parents that were never forgotten. After retiring in 1995, she spent time with family, attending her grandchildren's sporting events and activities, traveling, and getting together with friends. Her numerous friends throughout her lifetime also brought her much happiness. Whenever Kay went somewhere, she always knew someone. She had a smile that will never be forgotten.

She is survived by her children, Jim (Sue) Van Grunsven, Paul (Carmel) Van Grunsven, Kris (Mike) Carpenter, Mary Barthels as well as her grandchildren, Maggie, Brandon, Jordan, Alexandra, Jake, Brian and Kevin. She is furthered survived by her sister, Donna, sister-in-law, Mary Jane, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dave, brothers Jerry (Chum), Paul, and in laws Joyce, Fran, Fred (Agnes), Wilb (Hazel), Della (Gordon), Ike (Mildred), Bob, and Fred Jr (Grace).

Friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1305 Lourdes Ave., De Pere from 8:30AM – 11:45AM Tuesday, July 30, 2024. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00PM with Fr. James Baraniak O.Praem. officiating.
