Carol A. (Bacon) Marcinkowski, 83, died Christmas Day, December 25, 2017. The daughter of the late Benjamin and Ella (Strenn) Bacon was born July 6, 1934 in Green Bay. On December 28, 1957, she married Bernard "Bernie" Marcinkowski at St. Boniface Catholic Church, De Pere.
Carol was a homemaker and served 24 years as a De Pere crossing guard. She was an active member of St. Boniface Church and was a member of Christian Mothers. She loved bowling and golfing and she especially loved walking with Bernie. Together, they walked thousands of miles. She was devoted to her family and her faith and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by one son, Steven (Lorraine) Marcinkowski, two daughters, Lynn (Vaughn) Woolf, and Kelly Herson, eight grandchildren, Joe (Julia), Stephanie, John, JT, Elizabeth, Daniel, Jackson and Ella, and one great grandson, Alexander. Carol is further survived by her siblings Marilyn Vandenberg and Daniel (Patricia) Bacon, sister-in-law Gerrie Ward, brother-in-law Harold Zelten and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bernie, brothers Elwood (LaVonne) Bacon and John (Patricia) Bacon; sisters Helen (Norbert) Peters, June Zelten, Florence (Ambrose) Manders; brother-in-law Donald Vandenberg and sister-in-law Dolores (Henry) Vanderkelen.
Family and friends may call at St. Norbert College Parish at Old St. Joe's Church, De Pere, beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2017. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at the church, with Father Paul Radetski officiating. Entombment in Allouez Mausoleum.
Memorial funds have been established for the Sisters of St. Francis at Bay Settlement or for Heartland Hospice.
