Catherine "Kitty" VandenAvond, 99, Howard, passed away at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, August 10, 2021. The daughter of Sylvester and Margaret (Ehlinger) Reinhard was born on May 28, 1922. She married Hilbert "Bert" VandenAvond in Ogden, Utah on January 17, 1943. Catherine was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Parish, Howard, where she belonged to the Christian Mothers and sang in the funeral choir. She grew up on her parents' farm, which eventually became Village Green Golf Course and stayed in the family for many years. Kitty loved to golf and won many championships at several area golf courses. Her travels took her around the United States and Europe. Kitty also enjoyed playing Bridge with friends and family at get-togethers, especially holidays, which she and Bert made very special for children and grandchildren. Catherine is survived by her children, Jack (Susan) VandenAvond, Lois O'Neil and Joan (Tracy) Ness; grandchildren, Anne VandenAvond, Tom VandenAvond, Brian O'Neil, Kelly (Paul) Baye, Michele Sedlacek, Christy (Chris) Seeley, Tricia (Jayme Rathe) Ness, and Sara (Bob) Kaiser. She is further survived by her great-grandchildren, Jessica (Frankie) Baumann, Jenna (Jesus) Sanchez, Briana, Connor and Brendan O'Neil, Scotty, Cody and Evan Sedlacek, Ryan, Justin and Tyler Wanciak, and Madilyn, Maggie and Brady Kaiser; great-great-grandchildren, Alex and Riley Baumann. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert; parents, Margaret and Sylvester; sisters, Mary Jacques, Theresa Farr and Leona Smits; brothers Leo, Val and Vincent Reinhard; and son-in-law Jack O'Neil. Family and friends may visit at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish, 2597 Glendale Avenue, Green Bay, beginning at 10:00AM on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, until time of service at 11:30AM with Fr.
