Cecelia passed peacefully away October 30, 2009 at the Anna John Nursing home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Bowler, WI to Wilson Antone and Eunice (Skenandore) Antone on February 10, 1925.
She was united in marriage to Michele' (Mike) Roberto on February 5, 1955 in Chicago, Ill. He preceded her in death on January 30, 2003.
Cecelia is remembered by her children as a strong, steadfast woman, a mother who nurtured and guided us with love, care and compassion. She instilled in us to live life to its fullest, to have faith in our creator as well as ourselves, to love fully and with abandon. Mom taught each of us to care and respect our elders, especially those less fortunate than us. She showed us how to love and care for our Bom-Bom and we thank you Mom for him. We are who we are today because of her, and for that we are grateful.
Mom enjoyed all the times spent with her family, was proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and of all their accomplishments. She especially loved the holidays spent with us and the laughter and good food that was abundant at her table. She loved red roses, good food, her daily cappuccino, going for scenic drives, but most of all, being with her family. Mom was a bonifide Chicago Bears fan and loved to rib her Packer comrades at the Anna John Nursing Home. She proudly displayed her Bears paraphernalia in her home (AJNH) and wore her Bears scarf 365 days a year! Of course to us kids, she was the most beautiful Mom in the world. She will be remembered as a woman with a lot of spirit and feistiness.
Cecelia is survived by her six children, Cecelia (Felix) Martinez, Oneida, Florence (Fred) Klakowicz, Green Bay, Tim Doxtator, Green Bay, Brenda (Everett) Black Thunder, Green Bay, Patricia (Frank) Gutierrez, Green Bay, and David (Doreen) Roberto, Green Bay.fourteen grandchildren, Edwin and Juanita Martinez, Oneida, Dwayne Smith, Atlanta, Ga., Raymond Smith, Chicago, Il., Tony and Michael Doxtator, Rick and Frankie Klakowicz, Theresa and Gina Gutierrez, Chanel Benson, Janee' Doxtator, Michele' Roberto, all of Green Bay, and Devon Farrel of Dekalb, Il. With heartfelt gratitude, we say thank you to all the caregivers at AJNH. Thank you for your patience
and understanding throughout the years. If we were hard at times, know that is was out of the utmost care and concern for our mother's well being. Many thanks to Dr. Szabo for his care of Mom but also in always taking the time to talk and assure us of Mom's well being. A very special thank you to Penny Pelky, who befriended our Mom at the AJNH, and whom we all accepted as part of the family. Thank you to nurse James for putting us at ease during Mom's final hour, and for the "goose story". We loved it!
Thanks Dad for helping her get home, we knew she wouldn't resist the roses. As Mom completes her spiritual journey, we begin our spiritual relationship with her. Mom, we will miss you so much but we are happy for you. You are finally at peace. Love your children and grandchildren.
