Mrs. Ross (Charlotte) Meade, 92, of De Pere, died Sunday December 13, 2009 at Unity Hospice. The daughter of the late Frank and Ruth (Nelson) Brockman was born June 25, 1917 in Republic, MI. On November 30, 1946, she married Ross Charles Meade. He preceded her in death on March 25, 2003.
Charlotte was a graduate of De Pere High School, where she was Valedictorian of her Class. She played baritone in the school band and enjoyed music her entire life. She and her family enjoyed traveling, especially to Estes Park, Colorado, the Red Rock Region of Utah and Arizona, and Panama City Beach, FL. She and her son David were involved at Heritage Hill State Park since 1982 as interpreters in the Fur Trade Cabin. Charlotte was an active member of First United Presbyterian Church, De Pere. Charlotte loved reading and history.
Survivors include one son David Meade, De Pere, 2 daughters Marilyn Meade, Madison and Cheryl (Jeff) Tyndall, Green Bay, two sisters-in-law, Marguerite Meade, Green Bay, and Leanore Carlson, LaCrosse, as well as nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, an infant son, Gary Ross, and a daughter, Gail Helen, an infant grandson, and one grandson and grand-daughter-in-law, Jim and Laura (Miller) Tyndall, as well as two sisters, Stella (Harold) Aldrich, and Florine (Edwin) Cleary. She is further preceded in death by Ross's family, his sister Harriet Meade, and his brothers, Austin and Emmet.
Family and friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 305 North Tenth Street, De Pere from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday December 16, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home with The Reverend Doctor, Ted Tromble of Presbyterian Church, Officiating. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
