Our beloved mother, grandmother, great- and great-great grandmother and family matriarch, Claire (Daoust) Van Schyndel, 100 years old, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2022, at Woodside Senior Home in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She was born on February 5, 1922, in Nadeau, Michigan, the daughter of the late Omer and Louise (Fugere) Daoust.
She married John Van Schyndel on August 27, 1941, in Oneida, Wis. She spent most of her life in Oneida, moving to Green Bay upon John's death in 1973.
Claire is survived by ten children: Carol (Roy) Ness, Rose Ann (Paul) Lapp, Claire (Chuck) Wauters, Anna (Bruce) Larsen, Rodney Van Schyndel, Robert Van Schyndel, Bernice Van Schyndel, Ronald (fiancée Tanya), Gerald (Chris) Van Schyndel and Joann Fischer. Her children Rita Marie, Mary Jane and Clarice (John) DeJardin preceded her in death. Joseph, Leo, Josephine, Rita, Rose, her twin brother Clarence and most recently her youngest brother Howard have also passed away.
She took great joy in each and every one of her many children and grands to the 4th generation! She will be greatly missed by everyone.
Music, dancing, playing cards, Aggravation, winning those "Bingo Bucks" and going to the auctions at Woodside Home filled her spare time. She loved playing "Kings Corners" with her friends there and was quite the sharp card player! She played piano, accordion and harmonica. She was busy every minute but never too busy for family or friends.
Her family extends love and thanks to all at Woodside who gave her such joy, love and support.
A private funeral mass was held at St. Joseph Parish, Oneida.
