Clarence "Pete" Gilson, 86, of De Pere, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 13, 2014. Pete was born December 8, 1927 in Green Bay, WI to the late Fred and Lenora (Vanden Boomen) Gilson. Pete graduated from Nicolet High School in De Pere in 1947. He married Jean De Bauche on June 23, 1951 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Green Bay. Pete played baseball during his early years. He enjoyed watching baseball games and the Packers. Pete worked as a machinist at Nicolet Paper Mill for 41 years. He was a member of the De Pere Men's Club.
Pete is survived by his wife Jean Gilson; son: Tom (Jane); daughter-in-law Mary Gilson; grandchildren: Scott (Megan) Gilson, Matthew (Jenna) Gilson, Sarah (J. Ryan) Gilbert, Zachary Gilson, Rachel Gilson; great grandchildren: Madison Gilson, David Gilbert; sister: Darlene Mann; sisters-in-law: Joan Gilson, Roberta Gilson, Betty Matzke, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Pete in death were his parents Fred and Lenora Gilson; son, Patrick Gilson; brothers: Ralph Gilson, Alfred Gilson; brothers-in-law: Alvin De Bauche, Clarence De Bauche, J.J. Mann; sisters-in-law: Agatha De Bauche, and LaVerne De Bauche.
There will be a 4:00p.m. Prayer Service on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, corner of Lourdes Avenue and Suburban Drive, De Pere, followed by visitation until 7:00p.m. Visitation will continue after 9:00a.m. on Friday, January 17, 2014 at the church until the time of service at 10:30a.m. with Fr.
