Connie L. (Lucero) Elmergreen, age 76, of Seymour, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Cortez, Colorado, on May 24, 1949, Connie's life was defined by her boundless warmth, quick wit, and unwavering love for those around her.

In 1971, Connie met the love of her life, Richard Elmergreen. After only three months of dating, they married on November 12, beginning a 54-year journey filled with laughter, adventure, and devotion. Together, they built a home centered on love, faith, and family.

Connie lived life to the fullest — traveling, golfing, and proudly leading her Red Hat Society group. She was the heart of every gathering, known for her infectious laughter and her legendary Christmas enchiladas. Whether sharing stories, dancing to Motown, or lighting up a room with her smile, Connie's joy was unmistakable and contagious.

Her strong faith in God guided her through every season of life and brought her peace in her final days. She reminded her loved ones to trust in God's plan and to find joy even in hardship.

Connie is survived by her devoted husband Richard of Seymour; her children Adam Elmergreen of De Pere and Joan (Jaz) Zakrzewski of Seymour; grandsons Cody (Megan) Guyette, Colton Guyette, and Dyllan Zakrzewski; siblings Chuckie Lucero and Betty Valdez; stepsister Elizabeth Ketcher; and her extended family Ashley and Simon Gomez and their children Aiden, Elisha, and Mya, whose care and love meant the world during Connie's journey with dementia.

She was preceded in death by her parents Nellie and Bill Miller, biological father Chris Lucero, sister Mary Lucero, and beloved daughter Christine Vandenhuvel.

Connie will be remembered for her laughter, kindness, and deep love of family. Her presence was a blessing — her faith, her joy, and her spirit will live on in all who knew her.

In honor of Connie's beautiful life, her family encourages everyone to keep dancing, keep smiling, and celebrate life just as she always did.
