Curtis "Curt" Van Egeren, 66, of Dyckesville, passed away following a long term battle with lung cancer Monday afternoon May 16, 2016, surrounded by his family. The son of the late Robert and Sylvia (Puymbroek) Van Egeren was born on November 9, 1949 in De Pere. He married the former Mary E. Renier at St. Boniface Church, De Pere, October 19, 1974. Curt was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era.
Curt worked at K-Mart in Stevens Point and later construction millwright at Georgia-Pacific Paper Company, prior to retirement in 2008. He enjoyed the outdoors, nature and birds. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, golf and trap shooting. Curt was a talented craftsman who enjoyed building birdhouses. He loved gardening and was proud of his hosta garden. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Curt was an armchair quarterback and loved his Packers, Brewers and Badgers.
Survivors include his wife, Mary, children, Mark Van Egeren, Robert (Linda) Van Egeren, and Cari Arendt-Van Egeren, grandchildren, Ty Jacob, Justin, and Sophia, his two brothers, Rick (Carol) and Jay (Cheryl), and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
