Dale Verheyden, 87, of Green Bay, was called home on Thursday October 31, 2013 to be in the Loving Arms of Jesus. He and Jackie are finally together again, in Heaven. Dale passed peacefully in the presence of his loving children. The son of the late Ervin and Meta (Feiblekorn) Verheyden was born April 10, 1926 in Green Bay. He married Jacqueline Ver Doot on June 18, 1949 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Green Bay. She preceded him in death on September 2, 2006. Dale served his country in the U.S. Navy during WW II.
Dale was machine tender at Ft. Howard Paper Company and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was a member of the Oneida Council of Knights of Columbus, where he served as Grand Knight. Dale enjoyed fishing at his place on Boulder Lake, took pride in working in his yard, and was an avid Packer Fan.
The family includes five children, Gary (Vicki) Verheyden, Debbie (John) Nichols, Craig (Cindy) Verheyden, Pam (Chuck) DeMoulin, Sandy (Victor) Tomesek, thirteen grandchildren, Lori (Charlie) Budreau, Jenni (Jerry) Suda, Stacy Verheyden, Johnny (Jessi) Nichols, Scott (Jocelyn) Nichols and Mark Nichols, Sarah (Brandin) Collins, Nicole (Jason) Olbrantz, Beki DeMoulin, Charlie (Mary) DeMoulin, and Steven (Krissy) DeMoulin, Dale and Emily Tomesek, 18 great-grandchildren. Dale is also survived by one sister-in-law, Carole Hendricks. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Jackie, his brother, Ronald Verheyden, sister, Vurl (Edward) Dudek, sister-in-law JoAnn VerDoot, brother-in-law, Francis Hendricks, grandson, Gary Allen Verheyden.
Family and friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 305 North Tenth Street, DePere from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Sunday November 3, 2013. Prayer service will be held at 4:00 pm. Visitation will continue after 8:30 am Monday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Family, Lourdes Avenue at Suburban Drive, De Pere until time of service. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Monday at the church with Father Tim Shillcox, O. Praem., officiating. Full Veteran's Burial Rites will be accorded immediately following the funeral. Entombment will be held at the Shrine of the Good Shepard Mausoleum.
