Daniel Richard Hujet, 69, Green Bay, passed away on August 1, 2021 following a series of health complications. He was born to Richard and Kathleen (Kwaterski) Hujet on June 11, 1952, the oldest of the nine Hujet boys.
Dan was a 1970 graduate of Green Bay West High School, as well as the NWTC Civil Engineering Program. He was active in high school sports, playing football and running on the track team.
Dan had a long career with the Green Bay Water Department before transitioning to a career in real estate development. Over the years, he worked for Skogg Realty, Realty Executives and others. In his retirement, he enjoyed driving coach bus, especially when it coincided with his children's extracurricular activities.
Every summer, family would vacation to fish in Canada, and the trip was a rite of passage for the kids as they got older. He was also passionate about golf, coaching sports and his 1969 hugger orange Corvette Stingray.
A proud lifelong Green Bay resident, Dan sold Coca Cola at the Ice Bowl and came home with a piece of the goal post. He never understood why anyone would leave Green Bay.
Dan is survived by his children, of whom he was tremendously proud, Jeff (Maggie), Mike (Amy), Emma and John; grandchildren, William, Benjamin and Nicholas; eight brothers and their wives; nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
Family and friends may gather to celebrate and share stories upstairs at the Brickhouse Craft Burgers & Brews, 500 Grant Street, De Pere, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 11, 2021. Please wear casual attire.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dan's name to The Jackie Nitschke Center, 630 Cherry St, Green Bay, or at jackienitschkecenter.org.
