Daniel S. Mashl, 71 of De Pere, WI passed away Monday Feb 6th, 2012 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Nov 13, 1940 to John & Bertha Mashl in Green Bay, WI. Dan proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
Dan started his working career at Green Bay Packaging before working for the City of De Pere for 30 years as Head Mechanic until his retirement.
On Aug 17th, 1959 Dan married his high school sweetheart and love of his life Marilyn Cornelissen, together they raised 4 boys.
Dan spent countless hours with his sons teaching them how to hunt, fish and share a passion for the outdoors which they continue to enjoy as a family today.
Dan also enjoyed building and flying RC airplanes and spending time with friends up north and in Texas.
The thing we remember most about Dan was that he was always there for everyone, fixing something or lending a helping hand whenever, wherever he was needed.There was nothing Dan couldn't fix.
Dan is survived by his loving wife Marilyn of 52 years and their 3 sons. Steve & Janet (Stephanie, Brett), Mike & Angel (Destinee, Alexis, Hunter), David & Sherry (Jordan, Jake, David & Anne, Mary), Daughter-in-law Sue Mashl (Andy, Veronica, Allysia, Matt). Brother Bob & Betty Mashl, Mother-in-law Cecilia Cornelissen, as well as Brother-in-laws, Sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his son Brad on January 7th 2005, Grandson Brandon on January 3rd 2004 and parents John & Bertha Mashl.
Friends may call from 4-8pm Friday Feb 10th at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, corner of Lourdes Av and Suburban Dr. Parish Prayer service will be held at 4pm. Visitation will continue after 8:30 am Saturday until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am with Father Tim Shillcox O. Praem officiating. Burial with full military rites to follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
