IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Daniel Leo
Bertrand
March 19, 1951 – May 15, 2023
Daniel "Duck" L. Bertrand
Daniel Bertrand, 72, of De Pere, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023. Dan was born on March 19, 1951, to the late James and Vivian (Pivonka) Bertrand. Dan graduated from Abbot Pennings in 1970. Dan married Bonnie (Bruyere) on June 12, 1971. It was love at first sight. They were married almost 52 years.
Dan had a lot of love for music and played in a few bands. And in later years, sang karaoke. He had a wonderful voice. He enjoyed golfing, loved the knowledge of reading and spending time up north. Also in his younger years, he enjoyed off road racing. Dan had a unique sense of humor. Dan worked at Hickory Grove Sanitarium for a couple of years. He also worked for the family business, Riverview Lumber, for 28 years. After it closed, he went back to renew his CNA license and worked at San Luis Nursing Home for 13 years.
Dan is survived by his loving wife Bonnie, his special children Carrie (Brian) Bertrand, Texas; and Michael Bertrand, De Pere; and his precious grandson Leo. Also, his siblings, Barb (Ken) Janssen, De Pere; Nancy and Dale Schmidt, Wrightstown; Judy (Mike) Dvorak and Joe Bertrand, De Pere; his sisters-in-law Karen Monnier, Crivitz; and Robin Butt, Green Bay.
Dan was preceded in death by parents James and Vivian Bertrand, in-laws Donald and Patricia Bruyere; two brothers-in-law Wayne Butt; and Mike Monnier. Also, other relatives and friends.
Dan you will be loved and missed so much. It broke my heart to see you struggle to breathe. You are at peace with everyone including (Buddy) your dog. Until we meet again, I love you Duck from Bon-Bon.
