David Lee Cota, 81, passed away on December 24, 2023. He was born in Oconto, Wisconsin, on August 15, 1942, to the late Louis and Charlotte (Borchert) Cota.

David graduated from Oconto High School and then went on to work at Northern Paper Mill, which became Marathon American, and James River before retiring from Georgia Pacific in October of 2005 after 40 years of service. After he retired from Georgia Pacific, David was employed at Country Vision from 2005 until 2009. He also volunteered at the Christian Outreach for several years and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church where he regularly ushered.

In his free time David enjoyed bowling, hunting, playing cards, especially cribbage, golfing, listening to music, reading, and doing his yard work. David always grilled the tastiest steaks while telling stories and visiting with family and friends.

David is survived by his wife Karen and their daughter Kari (Cota) Ahrens and her husband Larry, grandson Aidan Ahrens, brothers-in-law David Groblewski and David Ritter, sisters-in-law Marie Groblewski, Jane Ritter, and Noreen Wentz, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother Richard Cota, sister Beverly (Cota) Antczak, brothers-in-law Marion Antczak and Richard Ritter.
