David R. Franken, 71, of De Pere passed away December 30, 2016 surrounded by the people he loved the most. David was born March 24, 1945 to Robert and Marguerite Franken. He graduated from Abbot Pennings High School in 1963. David retired from Fort Howard Paper Co. After retirement, he enjoyed volunteering to deliver Meals on Wheels in his beloved Jeep Rubicon. Always wanting to perfect his golf game, he was a member of Highland Ridge Golf Course and loved golfing in The Old Pharts league. David was also a member of The Lodge Boys. As a season ticket holder, the Packers were very near and dear to him. He enjoyed going to Packer games, St. Norbert Hockey, and listening to Brewer games on his radio out on the patio. His loving spirit will always be remembered by his wife of 46 years Barbara; one son Todd Franken; one daughter Amy (Tom) Ruiz; three grand kids, RW (special friend Sarah), Katie, and Alex; one sister in law, Janet Peterson, and several nieces and nephews. He is further survived by two sisters, Marge and Judy. David was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, Gene and Lois Kee; brother in law, David Kee; and several aunts and uncles.
