David Harold
Frechette
March 13, 1948 – February 13, 2026
David H. Frechette, 77, Bellevue, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026.
He was born on March 13, 1948, to the late Harold and Evelyn (Hussin) Frechette.
David graduated from Preble High School in 1966. On June 23, 1973, he married Bonnie Jirovetz at Resurrection Catholic Church They were blessed with 52 years of marriage and were each other's biggest support.
From early childhood days spent with his grandfather on the English River in Ontario, Canada. David learned to love fishing. He especially enjoyed walleye fishing in his later years on Lac Seul in Ontario, often making several trips in a single summer. David enjoyed telling stories of deer hunting up North. Even better, Dave followed elk, moose, and bear hunting in Wyoming, Alaska, and Canada.
Through a part-time job in high school at The Charcoal House, David found the restaurant business, a hard worker who enjoyed serving others, David found success at the Ye Olde Chatterhouse Supper Club in De Pere for many years. His work ethic, his storytelling, and his cooking skills were a big hit. Pumpkin bread, Friday fish Frys, and egg rolls were among favorites. David was very active in the De Pere Optimist Club during those De Pere years.
Later years he worked at Moore Response Graphics and in retirement provided service to others driving a Medi-van for Lamers Bus Lines where his passengers appreciated his friendliness and courtesy. In the Knights of Columbus, he continued to serve others and fostered his faith; he prayed the rosary every day.
The last six years have been a challenge with many serious medical issues. His strength and stubbornness got him through many difficult days. Sparky, Patches, and Peaches, his best dogs, also provided support through the years.
Survivors: wife Bonnie; brother Todd Frechette; sister Kim (Ken Woelfel); special aunt Judi Schaut; sisters-in-law: Sue Schumacher, Sally (Vic) Lucas, Pat Jirovetz, Wendy (Dana) Johnson, Mary Jirovetz, Lori (Jeff) Van Dalen, Lynne Jirovetz, Jackie John) DiCecco, Chris Jirovetz, brother-in-law Bob Jirovetz; sisters-in-law Mary Jirovetz, Sharon Jirovetz, many nieces, nephews, Godchildren, and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents Harold and Evelyn Routhieaux) Frechette; Stepmother Glynis Frechette; brothers-in-law: Doug, Fran, and Wayne Jirovetz, a special uncle Wayne Schaut.
Friends may call at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 2270 S. Oneida St., Green Bay from 9AM until 10:45AM on Saturday, February 21, 2026. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM with Fr. Matt Simonar officiating. Burial for David will take place on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 12:30PM at Allouez Catholic Cemetery. Ryan Funeral Home, De Pere is assisting the family.
A special thank you to David's medical staff at both Froedtert and Bellin for their kindness and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund is being established for future teachers.
