David Edward Jansen, 75, Hobart, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2025. He was born May 25, 1950, to the late Norbert and Marie (Kempen) Jansen.
David attended St. Boniface grade school, Abbot Pennings High School, and DeVry Technical Institute.
After college Dave began working at Webster Electric in Racine, WI., while living in Racine Dave married Lynn Barrows and they had two daughters, Jennifer and Paula. In 1973 they moved to De Pere where Dave began working for Paper Converting machine Co. He then went to work for Nicolet Paper. After 9 years he started a new job at Vertex Consulting Engineers and then for Harris Group Engineering. After 20 years Dave got the chance to join Baisch Engineering in Kaukauna where he worked until retiring in 2014.
Dave and Lynn were married for 21 years. Lynn was a special and spirited person from whom their daughters inherited all their musical talent and charming personalities. In 2005 Dave married Susan Nooyen, they were married 3 ½ years. Sue was a talented and caring person and was his favorite dance partner.
Dave loved spending time with his kids, their spouses and his grandsons and he couldn't be prouder of them all. He enjoyed taking them out for pizza or having them up to the cottage on the Bay for some chicken booyah. He loved taking his grandsons out for lunch and "Root" beers. Dave liked mowing his grass to look like a golf course fairway. In his younger years Dave enjoyed fishing, playing volleyball, basketball, running, strumming his guitar and riding his bicycle. In his later years he enjoyed riding his Harley. He also enjoyed listening and dancing to old Country (and Western) music. Dave always enjoyed his Wednesday nights out with his basketball buddies.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Gary and Peter.
He leaves behind; daughter Jeni (Tim) Funk, daughter Paula (Jon) Schueler and their sons Edwin and Henry; brother Ron Jansen, sister Marilyn (Tom) Knuth; sister Jeanne (John) Valentine; brother Jeff (Dee) Jansen; sister Carol (fiancé Mark White) Mindermann; sister-in-law Mary Ann Jansen and nieces, nephews, and their families.
Friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 9:00AM, until time of service at 11:00AM.
