David Leidel, 81, of De Pere, died at home on Wednesday, June 17, 2015, surrounded by his family. The son of the late George and Mayme (Dworak) Leidel was born July 12, 1933 in Green Bay. Dave was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and shared many stories with his family and friends. On October 14, 1961 he married the former Virginia "Ginny" Alger at St. Joseph Catholic Church in De Pere.
Dave enjoyed going to Mark's softball games and annual Pink Flamingo Tournament. He dearly loved his family, especially his granddaughter. He enjoyed her soccer games and school activities and the little projects they built together in the basement. He loved being Up North in Pembine working at the cabin. He looked forward to his yearly trip to Phoenix to visit Julie and Kurt.
Survivors include his wife, Ginny, their children, Julie Leidel and special friend Kurt Reichenbaugh, Theresa Leidel, and Mark Leidel and special friend Courtnie Hopkins, and one grand daughter, Alexa Bertolini, siblings, Floyd and Judy Leidel, Carol and Gary Counard, Bernice "Nancy" and Wayne Le Cloux. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Harold and Ralph and one sister, Grace Janus.
Family and friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family 1307 Lourdes Avenue, De Pere, from 8:30 to 10:15 am on Saturday June 20, 2015. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Saturday at the church with Father Tim Shillcox, O. Praem, officiating. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
